I'm a British Artist, a textile collector, a mad cyclist and climber, a vintage-mad mother living and working in London. I paint murals in jazz clubs and cafes (check out www.deemoi.co.uk), and I run Cool Mummy, I'm living my dream! Some time ago on a rainy afternoon in my bright studio in London, while I worked on a commissioned painting, my daughter Sacha was finishing her literacy homework. Out of the blue, she announced to me in her 7 year old serious voice " what you do mummy is so cool"...A few weeks later and following a conversation I had with my best friend about the challenge of finding a special gift for her daughter, my endless confusion about how to reconcile motherhood, work and the need for creative expression resulted in the birth of Cool Mummy. With a BA in Advertising and Marketing, a year at the London College of Fashion studying sewing and draping, seven years spent working in advertising with Art Directors and other creative types, six years working for Yahoo! In London, and plenty of Art commissions in between, I finally decided to knuckle down and make creative living a lifestyle. It's been a challenging and very rewarding journey.
