Children always enjoy the history of mosaics as much as they enjoy making it. The kids are fascinated to learn about the mathematics involved and by the fact of using tiny pieces to create a very detailed image. Children learn about rotational, reflective, or translational symmetry and then spend hours producing their very own mosaic art.

Children are given total artistic liscence and this is so important in helping them develop their self-esteem. Mosaics is a highly creative art form which encourages children to visualise and play with composition and colors. The kids draw their picture and the colors they want to use, they pick the tiles and break them using special mosaic cutting tools, they then stick the tiles down to create their colorful image. Once dry, the children will grout and polish their work to reveal the final mosaic.
