This workshop was inspired by my Great Aunt Mona. In the 1960s she had accumulated a magnificent collection of Oriental and Mediterranean beads, as well as fantastic box full of retro illustrations and pictures; she then used them to make jewellery and accessorise her bags.
Inspired by her quirkiness, I have spent endless hours as a child making lovely necklaces and bracelets using unusual gluing and cutting techniques .
This 2 hour Jewellery making workshop takes your children through the same journey of multicoloured beads, stones and lace to create a stunning array of accessories.
Before we embark together on a magical creative journey, each child is given their own set of jewellery making material to work with. Each set contains:
- A box of multicoloured plastic and wooden beads in various shapes and sizes.
- Retro pictures that we recycled into our own beads and accessories.
- Jewellery making strings and lace.
- Masking tape and tools.
- Large and small jewellery containers for sorting.
